LFNano™ Overview

DXV Water Technologies has developed a breakthrough, membrane water treatment system that greatly simplifies water treatment while providing the best quality water at lower cost.  The system uses a unique cartridge that can avoid membrane fouling for long intervals with no significant pre-treatment.  Our benchmark system, the LFNano™, employs nanofiltration (NF) membranes that provide exceptional quality product water from a myriad of source waters.  In addition, the system can be configured for “stand alone” treatment or combined with a reverse osmosis (RO) stage for more salty waters.  The LFNano™ eliminates the common fouling constituents that affect the RO performance, significantly decreasing cleaning outages.  The low-fouling nature and simplicity of operation allows the LFNano™ system to treat water at significantly lower cost than competing systems.  Further, it creates economic membrane applications where NF membranes have not been considered before.

“The biggest investment gains will be to the complete solution to biofouling and scaling.”

DEMWAX™ Overview

The naturally low fouling nature of the DXV membrane element allows the system to be used in the extremely low energy Depth Exposed Membrane for Water Extraction system or DEMWAX.  The DEMWAX system maximizes the use of natural forces to drive membrane based water treatment.  Natural pressure and water movement at depth in a water body provides a free and sustainable way to displace current energy intensive processes.  The DEMWAX system has numerous advantages over existing desalination systems, including:
  • 70% reduction in energy use over traditional membrane processes
  • 50% reduction in total cost of water over traditional membrane processes
  • Elimination of process chemicals in water treatment/SWRO pre-treatment
  • Elimination of brine disposal due to low recovery operation
  • Elimination of open intakes and resulting impingement and entrainment
